War Eagle Here We Come

pics summer 2012 061

I am currently getting ready for War Eagle Fair. I’ve got 6 weeks, and I’m starting to get a little scared. It’s a four day arts and crafts fair. It’s my first, and, well, maybe we should start at the beginning.  See, when I was getting ready for this…

Almost everyone who came by asked the same question, “Will you be at War Eagle?” My answer was the same. I never really even considered it. I’d heard it was really hard to get into and wasn’t sure about the logistics of it at all.  Then, one day, when I’d taken a pretty big hit, business and ego wise, I decided I would not let that hit keep me down for long… So I filled out three applications, put together three media kits and headed to the post office. Never did it occur to me that I would get in….

Then, what do you know, a mere 20 days later I got a letter in the mail. 😉

So, here we are, and in 33 days… 33 days, there we’ll be. SO, if you don’t hear much from me, this is why, and I am THRILLED!!

Love to ya!! xoxox

A Little Bag Love

Everyonce in a while, I enjoy letting someone else do the hard work and use a pattern. Well, let me clarify, every once in a while I enjoy using one of Sis Boom’s patterns, by the delightfully wonderful Jennifer Paganelli and incredibly talented Carla Crim. This spring I had the hankering for a new bag, so I bought the Rosettta Ruffle Bag PDF Pattern. This bag goes together pretty quickly, and comes in three sizes and three variations on the ruffles. Since I like a more finished look, I went for the double thickness ruffle. This option uses quite a bit more fabric, but, in my opinion, the end result is worth it. I get compliments on this bag every time I carry it.

The fabric was from my stash, and I can’t tell you much about it, other than I liked the colors. 😉 Ha! And… I was in a hurry and didn’t take time to put pockets in it(I mean, it was “just” for me…), in a bag this size(lg) that was a big mistake. Take the time, trust me on this. Flowers are just ruffled fabric and covered buttons. The picture? Ha! It was taken with my phone, sitting on my lap, up against the dashboard of the van on the way to the state basketball tournament. Which, I just have to add in, the Fort Smith Patriots won. Go Patriots!

Like this bag? Head on over to Sis Boom, she can fix you right up!

Hello!!! We’re Here!!! Let’s get this party started!!

The Dream Team :)

Hello!! It’s so great to see you here! Okay, I know enough with the exclamation points. It’s only that we are Sooooooooooooooo excited, and, let’s face it, glad to be done! 😉

So. Welcome to our new website. It’s been a labor of love, which, ya know is kinda fitting. You might be thinking, “Girl, you’re a one woman show, why do you keep saying ‘we’.” Well, at times you would be right, but not here. Several people have had their hand in this project. I’d like to thank a few and introduce you to one.

To Kandis, Christine, Beth, Kristen, Kristi, Dee, and Tiffany, Thank you! Couldn’t have done it without your encouragement, editing and ideas.

To Theresa, thank you for your wisdom and words. You’ll never know the freedom your words brought to me as my frustration level rose early on. Everyone wondering what she said? It was simple and profound, “Jan, you are a designer, not a blogger, it can wait. Focus on your work.”

There are others who inspired me and have made this possible, you know who you are, and I know I’m never truly alone in this, cause I carry you in my heart always.

Now, drum-roll, please…. I have the honor of introducing you to a lovely, smart, talented, integrity driven young woman. I first knew her as @SimplyHarmony, and, can I just say, as a music lover, harmony is beautiful, and her parents got it right. Now without further adieu, Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you, the ever generous, gracious and grace filled, Harmony McGuire.

Ever wonder what loveliness looks like personified?

Harmony, you have gone over and above what I ever imagined. I love everything you have done. Your design aesthetic is spot-on with what I had in mind. I cannot thank you enough and look forward to working with you in the future.  Much love, Dear One. xoxo

Harmony has a design company, Harmonious Ink. You will find her link in the footer and, I can say, if you need a website built, she has my highest recommendation!! Contact her, she is amazing!

So, welcome to the new home of SewSowinLove. Come in, sit a spell, say hello, and get to know us and what we’re all about. We are so glad you’re here! xoxo
